Not defending the FBI, I think theyve turned into a political machine over
the past few decades. But they do as much as they can within the confines
of the constitution and the ACLU. the vast majority of these scams arent
even realized until after the fact. the airbnb and hotel use for mules is
slick, but not everywhere has cameras after the fact. Remember when an area
code and prefix told you where the person calling was from? it wasnt the
FBI that wanted the convenience of number portability. Thats probably one
of the biggest tools, caller ID spoofing, that gives these knuckleheads
success in the scams. We outsourced so much over the last decades that we
are more trusting of foreign accents on cold calls. blaming the fbi is like
that meme of the person putting the stick in their own bike wheel...
Im hoping chuck schumer can get a bill passed banning crime so this can all
be squared away
