Fire and Police Get Wireless Video & Broadband Access in Cape Coral, Florida
Southeastern Communication Service has brought Alvarion broadband wireless to the municipality of Cape Coral, offering mobile, high-speed network access to remote fire stations and the Police Mobile Incident Command Vehicle (MCC). Headquarters of the Public Safety Office and a nearby fire station were on the city-owned fiber backbone for data communications needs. An additional eight remote fire stations were not covered by city or commercial fiber networks, but instead via costly leased T1 lines to the Public Safety data center.
