you need to know about IP networking to operate a successful
WISP. It will be a highly technical class, but will be
geared toward the beginner in networking

o This class will be an introduction to RF. It will include
topics such as:
+ Antennas
+ Determining coverage expectations
+ Which tools will I need? (software AND hardware)
+ What is the difference between 802.11 and 802.3?

o This portion of the course geared primarily toward the
beginner that wishes to be better equipped to deploy a
successful WISP
o This will be 1 day of the course

o This will be more of a discussion than a "class". During
this session, we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses
of various AP solutions on the market today. As part of this
session, we will cover (at least) the following vendors and
solutions:
+ Mikrotik AP and client
+ Ikarus
+ TenX solutions
+ Canopy
+ OTHERS
o This will be 1 day of the course
This course is scheduled to begin on December 11, 2006 and will finish
on December 14. Class will start between 9:30 and 10 on December 11 and
we will try to wrap up by 3 or so on the 14th.

have enough room to take notes. If you are an avid note-taker, you may
want to bring along a notepad to insure that you have sufficient room
for notes. We do not allow recording devices in the class.
