Dear List,

    I have (HP Jet All In One F4185 model). I have been facing problem with my 
scanner since past one month. Whenever, I try to scan, I get error message 
which I have pasted bellow. I took guidance from HP call centre. They gave me 
to download some drivers to solve the problem. But, all invaine. Finally they 
sent hardware engineer to check the unit. After checking he put a report to be 
replace the entire unit. However, printer and copier were working with no 
problem. 

    Now I have received new one in replacement. Somehow, same problem coming 
with scanner. In the meanwhile, I have got my OS (Win XPservice pack 2)  
reformatted. Can anyone guide me to overcome this burning problem? Or, what 
would be the cause at least?

Unable to communicate with  HP scanning software. Please verify that it has 
been installed and is working properly. Ifgraphic 683  this problem persists,
please shut down your application and try again.

    Their guidance is simply check the USB cable, check USB ports working in 
order.
