Dear All, St. Xavier’s College, XRCVC-Lake Shore extension is happy to announce an online workshop on the theme *“Using Braille Screen Input on iOS”* under its Tech Roshni series – A step at bridging the digital divide for blind and low vision persons.
- Are you fond of Braille typing? - Is the QWERTY On-screen keyboard affecting your typing skills? - Do you know you can use your Braille typing skills on iOS device? XRCVC is conducting a workshop on “Using Braille Screen Input on iOS”. Braille screen input is an accessibility feature on the iPhone that introduces a different way of typing and editing text. Normally when we input text into a field whether it be a text message, email, document, or any other form field where text is entered, the on-screen qwerty keyboard is what’s used. This accessibility feature offers another way of typing for blind individuals familiar with the Perkins style keyboard and braille. In this one-hour workshop we will explore this feature by understanding how to set up the Braille Screen Input on the iOS device, how to use this feature effectively with VoiceOver and much more.
