Guide dogs are not trained to fight street dogs. Instead, they are trained to stay calm, avoid distractions, and stop or change direction if another dog is in the way. Handlers are also taught how to deal with such situations safely.
About the honking and road noise, guide dogs are trained to stay focused even in crowded and noisy places. They learn to ignore the sounds and follow only their handler’s commands while guiding them safely. The survey I shared is to hear from visually impaired people themselves. Your opinions will help us see if this project can really work in India and whether we should take it forward.
