Others have already pointed out that Word 6.0 & later versions use
the same file format for both Mac & Windohs. Having said that,
you'll certainly run into differences -- mostly with special
characters beyond the 7-bit ASCII range, but Mac users probably
include more PICT or EPS format graphics (instead of WMF or PCX).
I have Mac Word 6.0.1 here at home & Word98 at work -- if you need
sample files from either one, let me know off-list. (I only use
Word for opening files schlepped around office email nowadays;
FrameMaker+SGML is my work tool. Otherwise, I probably would have
asked about it myself a long time ago.)
