Is Plan 9 from Bell Labs still maintained?

Since January 2015, Plan 9 is officially no longer maintained at Bell Labs.
The latest change and CD image was published on January 10, 2015.

Because of this, 9legacy is now more a continuation of Plan 9 from Bell Labs
<https://9p.io/plan9/> rather than an aternative distribution.

Why is Plan9 no longer maintained?

Well, I have been interested in this thing for years. I tried to install it
back in 2021 and gave up after a couple attempts (I was an 18 y/o little
kid with no knowledge about low level and os related stuff). Upon failing,
I decided to use it inside VirtualBox [which clearly does not feel real].

Now, I'm trying to install it again. First issue I encountered, >>It Only
Supports Legacy Boot<<. Luckily, my pc is old enough to have Legacy Boot
support. I was able to boot into the USB but then I encountered some
different issues [unresolved].

Being so determined to get it working on my pc, I was crazily surfing the
internet and came across that part in the 9legacy website. 9legacy Seems to
be a cool project. I loved it, and I want to contribute to it (for which I
would definitely need a working Plan9)! But the question is why isn't Plan9
itself maintained. I bet, many issues in Plan9 could be solved with the
help of 9legacy. Support for UEFI could be implemented. And Many Other
Things!

Thanks!
