To clarify, 9legacy is more historic snapshot of bell labs code with some minor fixes.
9front is where devs usually fix all the things or just play around as our own local fork. 9atom was for atom pcs and not really maintained. None of these has anything to do with cirno or anime. even the root user called cirno can be anything, its not a hard coded convention like in *NIX systems. If your getting errors on 9legacy, p9p, or etc. we most likely fixed or have a bug bounty for it in 9front.
